I find it hard to feel any sympathy for Latinos who voted for Trump in 2024. This guy’s whole platform in 2016 was being racist towards Latinos and he stops saying overtly racist shit for just a bit during the election and people fall for that? It kind of stretchesy imagination to think of how someone could be that stupid.

Its absolutely not guaranteed they can compromise the midterms enough to prevent the complete collapse of their coalition. They had a bizarrely popular mandate on immigration, all they had to do was be SLIGHTLY reasonable and not harass the huge American latino communities. Its an incredibly stupid and unforced error. They could have shut the borders completely with abject cruelty if they just left the communities who voted for them alone.

Voters are lazy. I would assume it’s because they equated his first four years to prosperity (it wasn’t) and assumed it would be more of the same.
