Why the fuck would anyone care about that?

Why the fuck would anyone care about that?

People who compare Biden to Clinton and Harris and see gender as the difference are missing the much more obvious difference in that Trump was the (chaotic) status quo. Every election except for Obama 2 has been a “this sucks, do something else”. Biden won, because he was something else, but he didn’t do nearly as well as he should have and he was cruising for a loss in 2024 even before his brain leaked live on stage.
And while that would point toward better odds for an uninspiring moderate, I do expect we’ll be in danger of vote suppression and manipulation and can’t trust simple “change” to push literally anyone over the finish line.

Polling published by Pew that was conducted last year similarly puts the number at 41% (including those who self-identify as “Lean Democrat”, “No Lean/Refused”, “Lean Republican”), while Gallup data puts the percentage of Americans who identify as Republican-leaning independents, non-leaning independents and Democratic-leaning independents at 45%, which the company said was a “new high”.
Bernie Sanders is a “Democratic-leaning independent”. “Independent” is not a synonym for “centrist”.

Reprieve found that only 23 of those killed had links to terror organisations.
There was a link. They were killed by one.

Making matters more complicated, a fourth candidate, Cindy Burbank, filed to run at the last minute as a Democrat when she saw that Forbes was running. She said her goal is to beat him in the primary and then drop out and support Osborn in the general election, a move that could get her disqualified if the state’s Republican government believes she isn’t running in good faith.
This is the sort of thing you’d read in story satirizing politics. Guy enters primary fraudulently in order to receive votes from people so uninformed they don’t know who the candidates for the highest office are, woman joins to beat him with a clear statement of intentions in accordance with the goals of the party, and a politician from the opposing party will block the counter and not the actual fraudster.

Oops, you’re correct!

He desperately wants to be the Obama redux who shows he’s the bigger man by just forgiving all the crimes of his opponents. He dreams of an America where a black Muslim immigrant can share a Pepsi with the tatted up ICE agent in army surplus sent to deport his family.

That’s what it is. The A-Bomb or Atom Bomb was the type of nuclear weapon dropped on Japan. It’s a fusion weapon rather than the later fission weapons called H-Bombs.

IIRC, there is no way to recall senators or representatives. Their election is specified in the Constitution and there’s no allowance for recall so even if states wanted to they couldn’t.

Seriously. Fetterman has brain damage and loves ICE, but what does the NM guy gain? He’s simultaneously voting against funding ICE unchanged and thinks it’s a great idea to put a violent thug at its head?

Not really. The vote was passing without the Democratic votes. It’s just regular shitty centrism.

Gorsuch pondered, too, whether voters would be able to recall their mail-in ballots if a scandal involving their candidate (like a “sexual escapade or colluding with a foreign power,” he said) broke out after Election Day.
It’s so weird and fucked up that he’s making this an argument against allowing postmarked ballots, which allow someone to wait until election day in case there are surprise scandals. He seems to think someone being able to recall a vote for someone who’s revealed to be unfit would be bad.
But instead of this hypothetical where a scandal comes out after polls close and some small number of people are able cancel votes sent from far away, he wants people to lock in their vote well before election day so that they can’t vote with the information available right up to the end like in person voters. And I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the next case he’ll be decrying early voting for doing just that.

He’s the only one with a shot of winning because he just won the primary and is now the only Democrat running. If Crockett won, she’d be the only one with a shot.

AKA, allow the USPS to geographically invalidate votes.

How likely do you think the downvoters are to be the one criticizing the dude for abandoning the woman vs. the ones upset he’s being criticized?
Because I think the dude was shitty as hell and thus should theoretically be the type of man offended at being lumped in with him, but I get it. Women don’t know if they’re going to get my type of man or the type who will ditch them on a trail until it happens. And I’m pretty sure it we go through the effort to check those downvotes we’re not going to see many of them commenting about how this guy was in the wrong and instead a lot of empathizing with the shitty man.

Walk back silently while in sight of each other, or if you really need time and space, take it while neither of you continues to hike. Or just fucking get a hold of your emotions to finish the damn hike.

People can have problems on a hike that aren’t deadly but still require support. If a partner is slow it might be because they’re getting sick or injured. Even if the chance of them dying is low, it’s still your responsibility as their partner to look after them. No one else on that trail is going to have a higher responsibility to support them.

Yeah. Even if you figure out halfway through that you hate spending time with them you just fucking walk the rest of the way with them in silence. Sometimes things don’t go how you hoped and you have a bad day. Deal with it.
I just want you to know, I’m downvoting you for your thorns, not your opinion.
