We would like to absolve ourselves of complicity but the reality is that each American, in their own small way, has contributed to the systemic corruption we all suffer from. It’s a difficult thing. Many of us, most of us suffer disproportionately to the aristocracy, yet we carry on, and we let them continue with their schemes. We could easily topple them, wrestle the levers of power from their wretched, traitorous hands, but we don’t.
