The problem I for see is the Gestapo vehicles are unmarked. If any of these cowardous, murderous bastards kill again, and they will, they’ll do like the other asshole and hide in their unmarked truck and speed off.

The Feds already made it clear they will actively undermine any attempts to investigate their crimes or arrest their goons.

They need to start setting up checkpoints on the street and detain any armed groups wearing masks with no ID. Honestly, seems like a pretty reasonable thing for any local law enforcement to do during a time of unrest.

…hide in their unmarked truck and speed off.

We’ve all heard of the citizen’s arrest but that sounds like a situation that calls for a citizen’s PIT maneuver.

If one black SUV full of masked men in tacticool gear starts shooting at another black SUV full of masked men in tacticool gear, how do you tell the ‘good’ guys? Or do you just assume it’s a workplace dispute?

You know I was gonna say something snide, but I legit would probably jack a gun from a feds corpse if given the opportunity. Prolly not a cop though, the ones in my town recognize me since I go to the gas station, they call me Surplus.

Gear adrift is a gift. Who am I to say no to the loot fairy?

Brings to mind the idea of the FP-45 Liberator though. If I had nothing and was out on the street, could realistically collect cans and bottles for a week or so and snag a shitty Hi-Point as an investment toward decent equipment.

Legit didn’t know the US military made a zip gun for occupied territories during the war. Guess it kinda get overshadowed by the Sten gun which operated under similar principles of cheap mass production pieces of effective shit.

So? They don’t need to carry ordnance or provide professional level cinematography results. They just need to have a camera that sends video back to the operator without line of sight so you can keep tabs on somebody from a few blocks away.

I just checked; the updated version of the drone that I own is readily available on Amazon and is manufactured by Xiaomi of all people (FIMI). If it’s banned, they’re not doing a very good job at it. Mine is quite capable of transmitting clean video back to you from over a mile away.

Yes, and my point is that the vast majority of those are so cheap and shitty that they can’t even accomplish that.

Just like everything on Amazon. Look, if you buy a $20 indoor toy that’s what you get. But trying to say that it’s “hard” to buy a competent enough drone for a couple of hundred bucks because they’re banned is 100% false. There are perfectly cromulent options handily available right there on that page. Hell, the DJI mini 3 is the second search result.

He didn’t deploy the guard, he readied them. Probably a mistake to be honest. If there’s unrest, Trump will immediately federalize them. And since they’re already set, they’ll deploy immediately.

A better move would have been the deputise them, and then abolish the state guard. It would be fought in court later because the guard is required, but that would be later. Meanwhile the state police are entirely under the governors authority. And using the new deputies they would have the man power to monitor and deal with ICE committing illegal acts.

Nitpick: state guard are under state control and cannot be federalized. A state guard would help in this situation because they are wholly controlled by th state.

National guard can be under state OR federal control.

The state national guard is required by law, and only 20 states have a separate state guard. Minnesota technically has an organization for a state guard, but it doesn’t exist right now. Since state guards get no federal funding, and state national guards do, most of the state guards get defunded or were never created. And the governor has no power to press anyone into state guard service, even if he could fund it. He does have indirect authority to deputize anyone into the state police, who are under essentially no control from federal officials.
