They need to start setting up checkpoints on the street and detain any armed groups wearing masks with no ID. Honestly, seems like a pretty reasonable thing for any local law enforcement to do during a time of unrest.

Brings to mind the idea of the FP-45 Liberator though. If I had nothing and was out on the street, could realistically collect cans and bottles for a week or so and snag a shitty Hi-Point as an investment toward decent equipment.

So? They don’t need to carry ordnance or provide professional level cinematography results. They just need to have a camera that sends video back to the operator without line of sight so you can keep tabs on somebody from a few blocks away.
I just checked; the updated version of the drone that I own is readily available on Amazon and is manufactured by Xiaomi of all people (FIMI). If it’s banned, they’re not doing a very good job at it. Mine is quite capable of transmitting clean video back to you from over a mile away.

But trying to say that it’s “hard” to buy a competent enough drone for a couple of hundred bucks because they’re banned is 100% false. There are perfectly cromulent options handily available right there on that page. Hell, the DJI mini 3 is the second search result.
