Well no shit. Who wants to disclose their entire lives to a fascist government, and then be at the absolute mercy of a bunch of homeschooled ICE morons?

Even when the world cup was in my country I didn’t go to any matches. Not that I could afford it, but even if I could I still wouldn’t have gone.
This time I won’t even watch it on the TV. That’s how much I dislike that fat cunt paedo and his regime.

(I also didn’t watch it when it was in Qatar.)

I haven’t watched international soccer since they awarded Russia and Qatar with the World Cup. Fucking corrupt pieces of shit supporting the worst people.

Italy getting repeatedly eliminated from the world cup is one of the best things that happened to this country in the last years

Not watching soccer on TV isn’t the anti-fascist resistance flex you think it is.

Yes, boycotts matter. Real boycotts, like the Montgomery bus boycott that lasted for months and truly hurt the recipient financially - what MLK called “economic withdrawal”.

Punctual boycotts like buying nothing for one day, or not watching something on TV, are just feel-good stuff that actually achieve nothing at all.

Also, I will point out that it took a lot more than not listening to Hitler’s speeches on the radio to defeat him.

So yeah, do not watch the matches if it makes you feel better. But it won’t change a damn thing.

Somehow tourists don’t like the prospect of potentially ending up in a concentration camp…

What, making yourself an international pariah and also actively being hostile towards anyone who even just looks foreign who’s in your borders is not good for tourism? Who could’ve guessed? I’m sure that spiking oil prices will fix it right

      No it isn’t.

There are plenty of people who are going to lose money and/or jobs because of this. Trump and his cronies aren’t going to be hurt.

Don’t celebrate hotel maids and servers getting screwed

Let me guess, if someone is held hostage for a ransom, and the ransom isn’t paid, and the hostage is killed, you blame the person that didn’t pay instead of the kidnapper?

        Literally the same moral logic.

The reason hotel maids and bartenders will be hurt is because the CEO’s made leveraged bets and are losing their asses. That’s not the fault of consumers who choose not to spend, that’s the fault of the wealthy.

Or let me put it another way: I don’t owe those workers to make their boss rich so he pisses a little of that wealth onto them. I would much rather provide a social safety net to help them out when their boss loses money being a prick.

Well I’m sure as fuck not going to feel morally obligated to provide the wealthy even more profit in either case, so that’s actually moot. But if we’re going to worry about the plight of the common man, let’s go about it the right way.

The delusion that literally every employer is a billionaire is fucking embarrassing.

let’s go about it the right way.

By deluding yourself into thinking a business of any size is the same as mega corporations and doing nothing else. Good work.

Tourist should floor Canada and help their economy.

But if you have to go to the US at least do not spend your money in red states.

Canadian businesses are greedy also and from what I understand there is a shortage of bookings due to price. I heard they’ll be charging $80+ for parking at BMO field. Offensive.
