People on the right are saying that when he puts his phone down to pull out his gun that that’s when he gets hit by the car. It’s like they’ve forgotten every other video out there and assume this is bodycam footage so the camera moving automatically means he’s getting hit. A lot of people are saying that the audio was tampered with too so I wouldn’t be surprised if they added some sound effects to make it seem like he got hit full force.

The lack of critical thinking is honestly insane.

Its not lack of critical thinking.

      It is motivated reasoning.

They’re using their brains, they’re using them to justify atrocities, by unmaking the atrocity into something else.

They’re thinking critically, but without the concept of arriving at a conclusion that seems to make sense, they are instead doing it backwards; scrambling for narratives and lines of reasoning that avoid the obvious conclusion and obvious evidence.

      this is evil.

I literally cannot think of a better definition of evil then starting from knowing you are wrong and then doing everything you can to gaslight yourself and others into not thinking you are wrong.

The Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police or whatever they fuck their little piggy club is called, who issued a statement explicitly denying reality and reframing this as a PR problem for people who don’t support the unwarranted first degree murder of civillians.

      Literally evil.

These people are not redeemable, they are fundamentally broken, violent, dangerous sociopaths.

Police unions should not exist…you CANNOT enjoy the benefits of union membership whilst actively engaging in union busting.

I agree except I don’t think they know they are wrong. If anything, it seems they know they are right in their heads, and that’s everything they care about.

          Perhaps, but, counterpoint:

Anyone who looks at this, and has the genuine stance that this was justified?

          Entirely seriously:

Such a person is significantly mentally disabled, and also a sociopath, and belongs in a mental institution, should not be allowed near sharp objects or wires or cords.

They really are rejecting reality. We have other footage showing him barely getting brushed by it at a relatively low speed. He fires 2 more shots through the driver’s side window and then calls her a bitch. It’s damning and a jury will decide his fate.

It doesn’t need to, Minnesota submits warrants to ice, dhs, doj and the last three known addresses for the shooter and they’ve satisfied the in absentia exception and they can then complete a trial without him. If convicted he’ll risk arrest and imprisonment and they can’t leave the country, most other countries won’t accept anyone with an active felony case let alone conviction and they’d probably enjoy the extradition.

The Vice President of the United States of America has literally said the ICE chud is owed a “debt of gratitude”. That’s after it was clear that he murdered someone.

And you think he won’t be specifically protected as a signal to all other ICE chuds? The guy is set for life. They have to make sure he is. Otherwise it’s going to be a lot harder to convince them to kill people when they’re specifically asked to.

Yeah stupid people say stupid things, what exactly about that is new or surprising, moreover what does it change?

They can protect him from federal charges but not state ones or they would wipe state sovereignity and all the big guns and fun weapons are on the coasts.

It would be difficult for them to pull off even now, tell a bunch of South shall rise again types that they’re throwing states rights under the bus and suddenly they aren’t on their side anymore.

You think he’ll be taken into custody? Lol!!!

The guy has the blessing of the White House, he’s a hero.

And it’s exactly that, that demonstrates we have finally crossed the Rubicon. Decent people with functioning brains can see this whole thing was unjustified, and that this is murder.

Yet social media is FULL of bootlickers blaming the victim. Most of them are bots and trolls.

But not all of them. And every one of those people? They’re prospective ICE agents. In America or wherever American rules will be enforced going forward. Those are the only people they are creating a narrative for now.

Bottom line? These are not people who are even trying to win elections anymore…they are openly lying while challenging the status quo on every law, political precedent, etc they can manage. This is a significant change (they’ve lied plenty, but never this nakedly).

That change? They finally reached the point where they are confident they can do whatever they want now, and fully have the reins of power permanently.

Why are they rushing to hire ICE agents and throwing everything they can at enticing people to join up? While so obviously pandering to the exact people who would want to sign up?

I’ve been saying it for fucking months and months… but we’re getting close now. Just have to keep firing the top brass in the military (install puppets/ remove threat of coup), encouraging hazing and abuse in the military along with kicking out queer people (pander to right wing homophobes while skewing the military right wing by making the military hostile to “liberals”), spreading our military forces far and wide (Venezuela, go! Iran, go! Tomorrow Greenland, go!) and thin

        Guess we’ll see

You get a very very sad “LMAO” from me.

He’ll never face a jury. The FBI cut local authorities out of the investigation and they’re going to clear him especially since JD Fuckworth and Trump are fabricating the reality that ice has “absolute immunity.”

        :(

They already said they had to stop the investigation because they’re being cut out of reviewing any evidence to form a case against him. They can’t charge him of murder if they can’t prove it wasn’t just “self defense” :(

These are the same people that say Jan 6 was peaceful despite hundreds of hours of video, thousands of photos, and witness testimony proving otherwise.

It’s not a critical thinking issue (at least not this time). It’s being willing to lie, cheat, and steal to get their way, no matter what.

Also there’s a willingness of many to go along with a lie.

It’s a big power move to say an obvious lie and have others have to say they believe the obvious lie.

Video and audio of the three shots from the other video is not in this cam video so yeah, it’s been tampered with.

Considering this video was so quickly released, it’s probably been whitewashed.

Since the only possible source for this video is the phone that we can literally see in the shooters hand in other videos it seems weird that he would alter his own video to make him look more guilty, doesn’t it?

These guys really don’t like having to think, do they?

The part between where he goes back to the drivers side (after the other officer tells her to get out) and when the car speeds forward after she is shot seems faster than the other videos I’ve seen. I’d like to see side by side comparisons of this and the other videos available, because I too feel that either the video or audio was tampered with.

I meant the speed of the video, however I do appreciate your insight on why the car was moving so quickly after she was shot because I’ve found myself (morbidly) curious about that. I read that she died on the way to the hospital, although at this point so many of these details are still shaking themselves out so to speak.

Overall, I agree that something is off with the officer’s video, there’s a mismatch that I can’t quite put my finger on without seeing it side by side with the other angles that are available.

I can definitely believe something being doctored about it. Apparently the video was released by Vance or DHS, and those are NOT people I can credit with honesty.

Alternatively, it isn’t edited…and the GOP genuinely believes it casts their cause in a good light. Which would speak to a complete lack of emotional intelligence, among other qualities that a decent human would possess.

EDIT: IIRC, an interview with the mayor of Minneapolis had him mentioning that Renee was still twitching around the time someone with medical training asked to tend to her, but was blocked by ICE. But even if she survived the gunshots while at the wheel, I very much doubt she would have been able to control the car.
