People are into sunk costs and book well in advance. A lot of that 30% is no-money-back cancellations.

I guess I’m going have to get some sort of Social Media account that I don’t currently use, and keep up with fake postings, just so I have something to show the Redhats when they stop my on the street and say “Ihre papiere, bitte!”
You do this, they find out the real accounts and you get much more trouble without even them needing to go through your accounts history.

Tbh the fundamentally fragmented, federated model the fediverse uses as a core design element does seem like it’d be far harder to centralize and comprehensively corrupt.
