The GOP lawmaker has missed about 50 roll call votes, and colleagues have not heard from him, Politico reports.
Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (R-N.J.) has vanished from Capitol Hill, and colleagues have not heard from the two-term congressman who lasted voted on March 5, Politico reported Wednesday.
Kean’s team told the outlet he has unspecified health issues, but even fellow Republicans in the New Jersey delegation have been unable to reach him, the outlet noted.
GOP Reps. Jeff Van Drew and Chris Smith have reached out to Kean to check on his welfare, only to be met with “radio silence,” Van Drew said. Ditto for Republicans in the New York delegation, Politico wrote.
If I’m even late to work once, I’ll get at least 3 angry calls from my boss wondering if I’m still alive and that if I don’t show up within the next 30 minutes I should start looking for new employment. How does this guy get to just not show up for FIFTY days and still have a chair/office waiting for him if he ever does return?

Kean consultant Harrison Neely told the site that Kean “will be back on a regular full schedule very soon.” Union County GOP Chair Carlos Santos said, “I don’t even know the truth myself,” yet indicated he was texting with Kean “and was told he’ll be fine.”

And he will probably get re-elected simply because he has the magic ® next to his name.
He got elected because his father was one of the more respected governors New Jersey had, and he was using those coattails. :(
