A November 2011 video has resurfaced of Donald Trump accusing then-President Barack Obama of wanting to start a war with Iran.

Trump stated in the video that Obama had “absolutely no ability to negotiate” and would initiate a war with Iran.

The United States is also a one-party state but, with typical American extravagance, they have two of them

Trump was a Democrat who golfed with Bill Clinton and endorsed Hillary for senator.

He was also a Republican who hated Obama and insisted, somehow, that Obama was not even American.

He’s a very greedy chameleon, greed is his only constant; whatever he SAYS is shite, unless he’s saying “give me money” of course.

That difference is as stark as black and white…

It shows that he has no ideals, no plans, no morals. He will give and say anything and everything to enrich himself.

It’s all about the power, money is just power. He failed in business, couldn’t hack it, so he ran for public office. Now, he’s “the most powerful man in the world”. That’s why he did it. But, he still believes that money is the real power, and he still considers himself a failure, so he’s wielding the power he has as hard as he can to compensate.

This has been continuous policy over 40 years. The highest United States government policy is to maintain “full spectrum dominance” across the globe, militarily, financially, and socially (soft power). The latter two have waned to the extent that we are over dependent on the first.

    This is a “Hail Mary”

So?! Gonna fight this guy with statements they made in the past?! It’s like arguing with IDF that what they’re doing is unfair and immoral.
They and their voters don’t care. It’s the kind of people that simply wants to have the winning hand, whatever way. Integrity, honesty, fair play, … are not in their dictionary. Power & money are their values. These guys are only busy with their own interests. And the goal justifies the means.
At first they’ll try to get their way legally (eg. soft approach à la Cambridge Analytica and advantageous algorithms, FOX news, …). If that doesn’t work they’ll adapt the law (ID & birth certificate, Roe vs Wade, Climate agreements, …). If that doesn’t work they’ll go “slightly” outside the law but it’s for the best (ICE razzia’s, deporting illegal mexicans to maximum security prisons in Venezuela, shooting supposedly drug boats in the Caribbean, …), If that doesn’t work they’ll go full Nazi (ICE are militia in the streets, kill political opponents like they tried on J6, track every not like-minded citizen with Palantir, DOGE data & whatever data they scraped, for instance, in this thread and put them in the concentration camps that are being built across America, …)
My point is, either way, power will not be given back.
EDIT : layout. Went a bit off topic perhaps.

In the modern era, I don’t understand how it’s “resurfaced.” No, it’s not resurfaced, it was always there, it’s just that for some reason people and the media finally took notice of it again. Plenty of “resurfaced” stuff matches this description: it never went anywhere, people just didn’t pay attention until they suddenly do and then they’ll stop paying attention again and even though it’s still there people will consider it sunk.

Are you arguing about the use of “resurfaced” instead of the blatant hypocrisy?

It was buried under the tsunami of bullshit trump, the republicans, ICE, and all the rest have been generating.

Yes, “resurfaced” is correct terminology and usage in this case.

It’s a popular media gimmick. Turn old news into a new headline because you’ve got nothing better to talk about.

The NYPost and WaTi play this game all the time

The blatant hypocrisy speaks for itself. The fact that it’s treated like it’s some shiny new thing instead of like you said, one of many things discarded as the firehose of falsehoods kept squirting and distracting the media with shiny new things to get clicks instead of organizing it all into a well documented tapestry of hypocrisy is part of why we’re here. The medias failure to contend with the nature of the beast is a problem. Treating every single incident as though it’s a unique, stand-alone issue instead of weaving it together as part of a larger whole is a problem.

Always important to remember. The main reason they accuse others of doing the bad stuff is because they do it and can’t understand why everyone wouldn’t do it too!

Makes me wonder how many Republicans are afraid of Russian kompromat. Or, they could just be complete hypocrites. Not really a middle ground, there.
