FBI Director Kash Patel ordered the polygraphing of more than two dozen former and current members of his security detail, as well as other staff, and has been described as being in panic mode to save his job and find leakers among his team, according to two people briefed on the development.

Patel walled himself off from some senior bureau leaders this week after multiple media reports raised red flags about his leadership, according to three people familiar with his recent actions. Two of the people told MS NOW that the director ordered the polygraphing this week of former and current security detail members, as well as several information technology staff.

The director has also avoided meeting this week with some key operational leaders of the bureau, the people said, raising concerns inside the FBI about Patel’s ability to stay abreast of pressing threats and investigations in order to make the best decisions.

    Lol, polygraphs.

We’re like the only country on Earth that uses that shit.

They’re unable to determine truth from lies. They can only detect autonomic fluctuations in the body after someone is asked questions.

That data is then interpreted by a human who, through some subjective method of interpretation, decides whether it indicates truth or deception.

It’s complete and utter insanity that this is used in any capacity.

I will only submit to a polygraph if I can also ask everyone else involved my own set of questions and publish the results.

Just 2 hours of questions on pedophilia until I get something.

Yeah not only that. But it’s well established this is how they work since like the late 80s. They are worthless. Pseudoscience

Complete and utter insanity is the main policy of the Trump administration, though…

He’s an idiot if he believes a polygraph show anything other than that the victim might be nervous. Polygraph is a scam. But he’s an idiot even without believing that.

Only US governments still believe polygraphs actually work. I bet they get consulted by Scientology.

I’ve taken three polygraphs in my life, and I lied on all three. Not only did the polygrapher not catch the lies, all three accused me of lying about things I had been truthful about. By the third one, I was just fucking with the guy. I figured I didn’t owe him any respect, he knows what he does is a scam.

I’d never take a polygraph if my freedom was on the line.

Yes but…This is an administration staffed entirely by people who know nothing about their jobs except what they’ve seen on TV and the movies. Zero doubt that Kash thinks it’s a magic lie detector.

i bet you could do a reverse of that scene in the wire where they’ve got a guy hooked up to a photocopier that is printing out the word “lie”

This is what always happens with fascism.

Because the entire movement is predicated on excusing the incompetence of ones self and placing blame on another. The immigrant, the jew, the trans kid: Its always someone else’s fault. Its also why these regimes inevitably collapse inward, because eventually the circle of the circular firing squad gets smaller, and smaller, until… well… you know… Hitler’s bunker and all that.

This is what happens when “loyalty” (as ill-defined as it is) becomes the most important metric for employees, because the Commander-In-Chief is a mob boss.
