The world’s No. 1 bro-caster, who has expressed some buyer’s remorse over his endorsement of Trump, stood directly behind the president, who was seated at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office signing an executive order to ease restrictions on medical research and treatments using psychedelic drugs.

Kind of ironic that the multi-decade war on drugs that included things like MDMA, psilocybin, LSD were being done by the cons, as a way to “own the libs”:

    https://eji.org/news/nixon-war-on-drugs-designed-to-criminalize-black-people/

The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and Black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or Black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and Blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.

The Republican Party has always been full of Republicans.

You can kind of see this as a general win for anybody who is a fan of using psychedelics for treatment of mental health issues, but it’s important to point out that both of the people mentioned in the headline have ulterior motives for this move.

Trump wants to get Joe Rogan back on his side after he alienated him with his Iran antics. Joe Rogan is one of the biggest conservative megaphones in the nation and he can’t afford to have him be talking shit about MAGA before the midterms, so he’ll throw him a bone about this one issue that he doesn’t give a fuck about anyway.

Joe Rogan is doing this to be able to hopefully one day self-administer psychedelics, not get meaningful treatment or aid from a professional to guide him through the process and change himself for the better.

I’m not sure which of these two are being more selfish at this point.

Well, it’s an EO, too, so can be overturned on a whim, so it might be hard to make any long-term research/business plans based on just an EO, especially from this dumpster fire of a “president”.

The Democrats should make it priority #1 to reverse and pave over everything with the taint of donnie on it, but in some cases I fear they may overcorrect, and I hope this is not one of them.

Rogan told reporters he learned about the medical benefits of psychedelics from an interview on his podcast with W. Bryan Hubbard, the CEO of the nonprofit Americans for Ibogaine — who stood next to Rogan in the Oval Office — and former Energy Secretary Rick Perry.

The fuck? Who let Rick “and the third thing i can’t remember” Perry in there??

Perhaps with this easing of restrictions on psychedelics they’ll find some new combination of shrooms, horse dewormer, bleach, and toilet seat coke that will bring it back. At a minimum that combo will have you thinking your hair is back.

The president also joked about getting ibogaine for himself as he pointed to a study that found that people who took the drug experienced a massive reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety within a month.

“Can I have some, please? I’ll take some,” he said. “I don’t have time to be depressed. You know, you stay busy enough, maybe that works too. That’s what I do.”

Whenever Rogan has a guest on that I think will surely push back on what Rogan is and has been doing in regards to Trump, I watch it just to see if they will say anything. And I’m disappointed every time. I thought for sure, when I saw Bill Murray was on with Joe Rogan, I thought for sure that Bill Murray was gonna push back, and he didn’t at all. I naively thought that someone like Bill Murray might be able to get Rogan to see reason.

And then recently David Cross was on Rogan’s show, and David Cross is really funny, and I like him. He’s super political and he didn’t push back at all. Not even a little bit, it was like, what’s happening!? I mean, I don’t want to give David Cross a hard time about it, but it’s like, why did you go on his show? And then not even say anything about how Rogan has conducted himself with Trump.

This is only an executive order. We know those are meaningless. I’m curious if there will actually be research on something that could go back to being illegal at any time.

This and reducing marijuana to Schedule III are two popular policies that Democrats are fucking stupid for passing up. If Democrats ever regain power, I do hope this might motivate the party to fully legalize marijuana, psychedelics, and other low-risk drugs like amphetamines.

If Democrats rescheduled marijuana, they wouldn’t be able to use the issue to win future elections. I love how Biden waited until last minute to demand the rescheduling of marijuana. If he had done it any sooner, his attempt might have been successful.

no one tell him about November

      https://wakenbakery.net/november-2026-hemp-ban-thc-products/

In November 2025, Congress passed H.R. 5371, which rewrites the federal definition of hemp to use total THC instead of just delta-9. This means THCA — which converts to delta-9 when heated — now counts toward the legal threshold. The law also caps finished products at just 0.4mg total THC per container, which would make even a single 5mg gummy illegal.

      What Products Are Affected?

      • THCA flower — Raw hemp flower that converts to THC when smoked or vaped. Sales have surged 340% since 2024.
      • Delta-8 and delta-10 THC products — The gas station gummies and vapes that exploded in popularity.
      • Hemp-derived delta-9 gummies and edibles — The legal edibles sold at cannabis cafes and online.
      • HHC products — Synthesized from hemp-derived CBD.
      • THC beverages — Infused seltzers, coffees, and lemonades.

Yea, but doesn’t go into effect until November. THCA flower is already banned, but edibles and THCA carts are still legal until then. I’m keeping hope that something will happen before though.
