Truth is simple.
For people in Europe (especially middle/east) russian imperialism is the same thing, as american imperialism to a middle east and countries in the North and South America.
We can all hate russian and USA imperialism, hate the mainstream media, but please don’t use other imperial contry as a alternative :)

I used to get that a lot on Mastodon.
They always assume you’re American and then you see their brain short circuiting when they find out you’re not. It’s as if other countries only exist as this abstract notion and only America is real. They tend to think of us as this monolithic abstraction as everyone in a Muslim country, for example, shares some inherent trait instead of a place with its own contradictions and its own complexities that cannot be reduced to their dumb generalities.

For a while there were quite an active number of Arabic speakers on Mastodon though most have moved on BlueSky or defederated.

Mods aggressively delete them so you wouldn’t. Moderation is out of control because it’s essentially robbing us of seeing diversity of opinions.
It should still show those actions in the mod logs. Can you link some. But seriously, post them here, Let’s see if they get deleted. At least they’ll show up in my inbox that way.

I get called either Russian or Chinese propaganda bot sometimes (because there are that many MONOTHEISTS in any of these countries…) and I’m pretty far ethnically from both, lol.
Well, Russia is 75-80% monotheist by these numbers, and no one knows what your ethnicity is here until you tell them. Also, people of different ethnicities can live in and/or work for those countries.
