  • If the door is shut and there is no censor I see no problem.

Yeah that’s the situation. And it’s part of why I didn’t want to engage with the A/C discussion that turned into 80% of this thread. I don’t know if some sinister Russian agent is using subliminal pixels to make everyone angry in here of it’s a Banksy art piece. I think it’s just more likely people argue on the internet a lot.

I did all of my work trying to find a reasonable compromise in the first weeks I moved in here and had them all slapped aside. I’m not looking for advice to get along with this person anymore. We are well past that point and are now in open acrimonious conflict. I caught this person stealing unopened mail addressed to the people who live here. All of my roommates tell about having their cookware stolen, one instance with an entire pot full of food that was cooling on the cooking range. I’m not staying here. But I’m not going to get kicked out over violating a rule that does not exist. The timing of this is that they’re trying to steal a full month’s rent from me and have me out early in the month. The notice was given the day after my payment. That’s not a coincidence. And after I defend myself against this unlawful action, I intend to retaliate with a comprehensive list of their violations, up to and including of federal law.

Your affectatious writing style and your constant references to a purely mind palace version of what you think the law ‘probably’ is resound to make you look like a sophomoric fucking moron.

You are correct that my lease agreement is a black box to you. But you go on to speculate that the California civil code makes it illegal for me to open my window?

I’m shocked you weren’t called on it. Cite your source, fucking nitwit.

  • The suggestion of a cat door keeps being raised and I don’t understand how that would fix anything about this situation for anyone. It’s mounted in a screen for the window, so by its nature the window will still be open. The only difference I can see is being charged to replace a window screen when I move out.
