not even samael, his original name. the other archangels yes, the most commons ones.
No, but when I was in the Navy I knew a Seaman Sample, a Seaman Guzzler, and a Seaman Drink.
A friend from highschool was called sperm bank in the Navy because he was Seaman Sellers.
I bet they got promoted fast.
Yeah, Lucifer Morningstar, he owns a club in Los Angeles and works as an LAPD consultant.
He’s really nice too, always asking people what they would like, even when they’re being held for interrogation. Him and that Detective he works with, real good-cop, bad-cop duo.
Natas Kaupus is about the closest I’ve heard of.
Which turned out to be made-up, 80s, moral-panic, nonsense, because his Lithuanian name happened to be Satan spelled backwards.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natas_Kaupas#Widespread_recognition
Yeah i wonder why anyone would associate him with the devil. No clue at all.
He had some nice board graphics.

His original drawing for another deck the “Hanging Clansman” even made it to the Smithsonian collection. Perhaps there’s a clue to who considered him to be anti-christian if there’s any connection that way.
Moral-panic was in '87, 101 started in '91.
I’d say he was leaning into the witch-hunt with this board. Although I haven’t seen any of his earlier graphics.
Also, I’d skip boardslides for a couple of days with that new deck.
bout ten years ago, I met a toddler named Lestat.
Does it count to kow a “Lucy Fur”?
Sick drag name
No, but I met a bloke called ZOLTAN! once. That’s how he pronounced it, allcaps and exclamation mark.
Did he ask you to put on a bubble wrap suit?
I had a coworker named Zoltan Furi. Hungarians get all the cool-sounding names.
No but I actually named myself Lucie partially because of the similitude
hell yeah
No, but i once had a client actually called swastika fuker, so anything is possible i guess
Actually, I am from Madrid in Spain , and we in Spain have a wide selection of children’s names: Lenin, Locomotive, Jesus, Ivan, Maria (for boy) . An uncle of mine wanted to name his little boy Lucifer, but it got refused by the civil servant!! We held a sit down protest in the village square, the mayor mediated between the parties. The little boy was then named after the King or the pope or some other dignitary. Ronaldo?
In Germany, naming your kid Lucifer is also not allowed:
The Kassel court ruled that ‘Lucifer’, the spawn of hell, was not a suitable name for a boy. The child was therefore named Lucian.

No, but I bet there are more "Lucifer"s than "Adolf"s
I would say the opposite. Adolphe was a pretty popular name in France before the shitty painter started destroying everything.
Not many Osamas any more. Forget Donald. In a decade, every kid will be named a version of Jayden.
Not a first name but they chose Lucifer as part of their email.
Hopefully no one hates their newborn child enough to name it that?
I’ll take Lucifer over Braeden, Brayden, Braeden…
Lucifer killed zero people in the Bible. Compare that to Yahweh’s genocidal body count.
The serpent never even told Eve to eat the fruit, just that she could (by the way, the fruit of a tree an appearantly all-knowing god put in front of them. Fruit that grants the eater the knowledge of the difference between good and evil. Which is somehow a bad thing?).
Satan wasn’t the one who ruined Job’s life and murdered his family for a bet.
Even when presented as the enemy, they can’t help but write Lucifer as the good guy. I’ll take enlightenment over bullshit threats of eternal damnation by a self described “jealous god” every day of the week.
All true. So in your opinion, naming your kid “Lucifer” wouldn’t affect them and their life any more than naming them “Alex” or “Jane”?
I’m not sure I said or implied that.
Unfortunately, we live in a society that’s been so inextricably intertwined with Christianity, so I’m sure there are people who would be awful about it.
Just like there are people who lose their shit when their total at Starbucks is $6.66. Doesn’t make it rational.
Anyway, just call them “Luci”
Your answer, detailing how Lucifer is wrongly seen as “the bad guy”, in reply to someone questioning who’d name their kid after such a figure, implies that you don’t agree and see no issue.
Lucifer was originally the name for the planet, Venus, in Roman mythology. That’s where “morning star”’ comes from. Because it’s visible just before or just after (as Noctifer) the sun rises and falls.
Early translaters used it for the name of the “Shinging one” in Isaiah.
Not everyone associates the name with a demon… that’s mostly christians and Christian off shoots.
So no, not everyone is the same as you enough to avoid naming their kid something you think is alway bad.
That’s not a question?
That isn’t either?
That’s the dig?
No, do you?
i tried to name my firstborn lucifer… but she wouldnt go for it… i chose something tangential
Your newborn sat upright and said, “you will not name me Lucifer!”
And then I imagine they collapse into a crying mess and you just name them Jesus for safety.
naw, a little more straight forward. part of the reason i was attracted to my spouse in the first place was her atheism… she seriously considered the name.
i love the idea of lucifer as a name as it seems to be one of the first to challenge the absolute idiocy that is the christian god
fantastic
