What many folks do not realize is that the money that ‘comes from’ the federal government actually comes from ordinary citizens who pay taxes to support that government.
You know, she’s absolutely right. In fact, that also applies to congress’ salaries and benefits, so maybe we should cut those, too. After all, we wouldn’t want to take money from ordinary citizens who pay taxes and might not be able to afford to buy a congressperson.
Or more importantly, afford health insurance. If only there was some sort of universal way to insure everyone’s health…

Nobody doesn’t realize this. We know it’s our money. We know you’re supposed to reinvest it back into programs and infrastructure that will benefit us. 10 year olds realize this.
Low hanging fruit. Cut the billions being spent to kill people. And just ending there, it’s hard to say which situation I’m talking about, isn’t it? So much of “ordinary people’s money” being spent in the wrong ways, all for the benefit of a few, or one.
Between this; the recent harassment of the 10 year old boy with the Sephora haul; MTG yelling at Parkland survivors, the “masterdebation” of Charlie Kirk; the right-wing demonization of the families of Sandy Hook shooting victims, and the sick acts Republican state legislators do to underage teenagers in motel rooms; I’m sensing a trend here…
The trend is that Republicans like to exploit vulnerable people to feel powerful, because they’re vile, disgusting and miserable people underneath their armor.

Wrt ebikes the money is better spent on bike infrastructure. Individual people can buy ebikes, individual people can not build bike infrastructure. That’s what government does.
E-bikes seem awesome and I’m not interested in taking away subsidies for them. That having been said, I commute an hour long drive by car each way, so unfortunately a car is essential for me to keep my job. Housing is ludicrously expensive near the power plant I work at, and nothing close to my home pays nearly as well as my job does. I just installed a charger at home and bought a used EV like two days before we started bombing Iran, so I really lucked out on avoiding gas prices. Of course I’d love to subsidize EVs to encourage more people to transition to them, but honestly just doing the math on refueling and maintenance cost differences should be more then enough to sway a lot of people. If you can charge at home and you already need a new car, it doesn’t make sense not to choose a good EV. The tech is finally here for that.
If I had a use for a bike or small motorcycle, I’d choose an e-bike. Maybe I’ll get one for popping into town and grabbing a burger and a beer or similar outings, but I just don’t think I’d use it more than a few times per year.
