Don’t know if it’s planned obsolescence or just laziness but all of my Nintendo Switches have at least a little drift and I’ve bought at least two replacement sets of joy-cons AND replaced just the joystick on one unit (PITA and replacements didn’t work 100% so I stopped repairing).

I’ve been successful in replacing built-in batteries in 2 different phones. Granted my families phones are all > 4 years old so maybe it’s gotten much harder lately.

DHL contacted me about unpaid duties. At first I thought it was a scam given that I’ve never had to before and I didn’t recall any recent foreign purchases. Did some digging and the fees are legit. Well… somewhat legit. I should’ve been charged ~33% of the purchase price (flat fees included) for my item but the duties were actually more than the item itself! I asked the seller if they could help correct the “miscalculation” but chances are high I’ll eat the shipping costs (to send it back) and never see the item.

Guns are still cheaper than healthcare.

No, we all face higher deductibles and premiums. Fewer enrollees means a smaller risk pool and fewer dollars in the insurance and health care system as a whole. Prices will have to go up to keep equilibrium as well as more denial and delay of care. Hospitals and providers will probably also close up shop or consolidate to save costs. We’re all getting screwed unless money is simply no object for you.

And also keep up the strongman image by being ruthless to “lawbreakers”.
