All talk. Let’s see the action.
Most Democratic senators’ word is about as trustworthy as a Republican’s word.
Only action matters at this point; anything else will be considered lies and half truths.
Oh, you can take Republicans at their word. Most of what they committed to doing, they are doing. It’s just that what they committed to doing (Project 2025), is evil as fuck.
I’ll believe it when I see it
We don’t need strongly worded letters. We need a insurrection.
One murder wasn’t enough. Or countless kidnappings. Or masses of documented cruelty and illegality. But two murders? TWO? Now that’s where I draw the line. Verbally. In the moment. Hopefully you don’t remember my actual vote when it comes time to reelect me. You never have before.
And this time they pinky swear that they mean it!
I’ll believe it when I see it
But what will you do until hell freezes over? That’ll be a long wait!
Technically, Hell is exothermic. 🤷🏼♂️
They’ll vow until it’s time to vote.
They really wanted to block the vote, but the Parliamentarian said they couldn’t. Rules are rules.
The parliamentarian is there as an advisory position, they have no authority and Congress can choose to ignore their recommendations.
Can the Senate Ignore the Parliamentarian’s Advice? Yes. The presiding officer can choose to ignore the advice of the parliamentarian on any matter they choose, which has happened several times before.
The parliamentarian exists to advise the chamber on existing procedures, but it is the presiding officer’s duty to make rulings. However, any senator may raise a point of order challenging the ruling of the presiding officer for not following the correct procedure. The dispute would then be put to a vote of the chamber. Ultimately, senators themselves are responsible for deciding the outcome of all parliamentary questions, even if they go against standing rules and precedent.

I just PTSD-envisioned Schumer looking sternly down his glasses while rubber-stamping yet another MIC bill.
No, no they won’t. But it makes for a nice soundbite for the gullible masses.
Didn’t they say this last time?
People are starting to realise they’re full of it.
No. They’re not realizing shit. Step away from the Copium. 🤢
Remember to vote in your primary elections please.
Heh. Like we’re gonna have “elections”. 🫡
Yeah I suppose it is worth focusing on the Democrats when all this is clearly due to tacit Republican support every step of the way.
If they renege on this then we absolutely need to primary every dem senator. We need something to show this party that empty gestures aren’t enough anymore.
