In my Canadian province of Ontario, the exact opposite happens, our premier, Doug Ford (former drug dealer and college drop-out), stopped pay increases of nurses during COVID and is funneling billions of our tax dollars on nursing agencies owed by the wife of previous premier.
Growing up to your south I always saw Ontario as a magical place across the lake where the government worked. Yeah, the Fords really brought my perception to reality. Your country and province are still better run than my country and my old state, but jeez I wish we’d been competing to be better
