Then why leave Poland out of the union but not Ukraine. Unless you want direct control over the land and want to replace the people to consolidate that control.
Clearly this process was not successful. If the Soviets were not trying to directly control the land and people to slowly assimilate, why wasn’t Ukraine a satellite republic like Poland?

The Kulaks killed by the Soviets were primarily Ukranian, and many farmers who weren’t Kulaks were still branded enemies of the state to deport them and kill off Ukranian independence and culture. It is clear they were not trying to preserve Ukranian culture, but to subvert and replace it and use the valuable agricultural land.

Kentucky might be 21 minimum to rent a car. I know New York was as well.
Technically 18 to rent a car, some states have it up to 21 I think, but most rental companies charge so much for under 25 it’s barely worth it.
2·8 days agoThis is actually a very fun legal loophole for Japanese citizens. The Japanese law as written states you cannot gain citizenship to a country and remain a Japanese citizen, but because of US law, you aren’t voluntarily a citizen when you are born, you just are a citizen. So as long as you don’t renounce your Japanese citizenship you can remain a citizen of both.
This is actually a very fun legal loophole for Japanese citizens. The Japanese law as written states you cannot gain citizenship to a country and remain a Japanese citizen, but because of US law, you aren’t voluntarily a citizen when you are born, you just are a citizen. So as long as you don’t renounce your Japanese citizenship you can remain a citizen of both.
