The Trump administration alleges that about 20,000 noncitizens may be registered to vote in the state, an assertion disputed by the local officials.
In a loss for Donald Trump, the Supreme Court on Monday swiftly rejected the administration’s request that California separate out up to 20,000 mail-in ballots that officials allege could be submitted by noncitizens.
The court in a brief order turned away without explanation an emergency request filed just hours earlier by the Trump administration as part of an unusual last-minute flurry of election litigation. Lower courts had also ruled against the Trump administration.
The court acted so quickly it did not even ask California for its views first, as it normally does in such cases.
They think they are so clever and “know and feel” so much cheating happens, but never proof, just feels and assuming if they could cheat that others will too. They think the worst of people, just like they are.
The reality is that they just handed them a list of 20,000 names of people who sound vaguely non-white. Every time any of these lists gets scrutinized, it’s found to be utter rubbish.
It’s also, it needs to be said, none of Trump’s business.
Also, it’s literally just names. No evidence, no supporting materials, nothing actionable beyond an allegation.
There is no reason why a noncitizen would want to register to vote.
It is a crime with a paper trail back to you.

Noncitizens registering to vote is not universally illegal.
The District of Columbia and certain municipalities in California, Maryland, and Vermont allow noncitizens to vote in some or all local elections.

Set it to match the number of appellate circuits and take a random judge from each circuit to fill the bench for each SCOTUS case.
This is effectively the way it was designed and updated to match the country and court system’s size increase originally anyway. It’s been over 150 years since it was changed.
The Court started at six members. Later increased to seven members in 1807, to nine in 1837, and to ten in 1863. The Judiciary Act of 1869 changed the Court’s size to nine members, where it has remained.
