I recall someone once saying they found a comparison between bribery and lobbying and the explanation for why lobbying wasn’t bribery was cause it’s legal, lol
I know, right? The Supreme Court was feeling left out, so they legalized
briberygratuities for judges.Doesn’t this apply to all “democratic” countries?
Not all of them have a formalized lobbying mechanism. It still happens, but at least there’s a chance of a corruption sentence if it’s scandalous. In the US they are called “super donations” and bragged about
it sure does, the US is just the most blatant about it
They’re just voting with their dollars, it’s real democracy!
“Corporations are people and money is speech!”
Yet they are allowed to buy and eat other “people”
It’s freedom.
