We don’t know that the vote counts that were reported had ANYTHING to do with the votes that were cast.

What really makes me feel like I’m taking crazy pills is when I watch the markets - things like S&P and oil futures on the tail end of news like this.

I’m not sure if many people are already baking in the fact that he’s a dumbass and so when he’s proven a liar or has another TACO Tuesday it’s NBD, or what…

A strait closure through November would be apocalyptic. Iran would be the least of our worries by then.

Nothing is going back to normal, ever. Not even if Trump loses and gives up power (0% chance of that IMO though). The damage is already done, it just starts to multiply faster the longer this goes.

If only there was a way to remove reliance on oil and its trade from the US and global economies. Like some kind of energy source that can be locally sourced or is so plentiful that it can be sourced from any number of other countries

While true, without a drastic market squeeze, those who have the money won’t invest it into alternative options until the cost of the status quo is higher than the alternatives for a long enough time

Do you remember those calculators we had as kids? They didn’t have replaceable batteries, they just had a little gray box at the top that converted light from the room you were in into energy to run the calculator. It would be so cool if we could do something like that at scale. Unfortunately I think that was as far as they ever took that technology.

It might be overly optimistic of me but I genuinely hope this pushes more solar, wind, and nuclear power investments globally. Cuba just kinda proved a rapid conversion from oil based power is possible. We just need a global effort into sustainable and efficient batteries that can be made with local resources to match

Their best chance at making something happen is right now. Closing the strait (and associated gas prices) is killing Republicans. After midterms they lose that power because whatever happens already happened.

Wonder how many people this pointless war has killed, between combat, economic degradation, and shipping disruptions. I’d wager tens of thousands
