Judge rules that Washington DC performing arts venue cannot be renamed without an act of Congress
A judge on Friday ordered the removal of Donald Trump’s name from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, ruling that the prestigious Washington DC venue cannot be renamed without an act of Congress.
US district judge Christopher Cooper in Washington directed the Trump administration to take down all physical signage bearing Trump’s name and to eliminate any references to a “Trump Kennedy Center” from official materials within 14 days.
“The Kennedy Center’s organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board’s unilateral say-so,” Cooper wrote in a 94-page opinion. “Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it.”
Next step is to tear down those banner mugshot photos of him on prominent american owned buildings.

Short of disregarding interstate commerce, raising militia, and stealing military equipment there ain’t too much that can be done, also even my militaristic bloodthirsty ass knows that’d be a bad idea right now given how the economy is probably going to implode sooner or later regardless.

Assuming there are midterms, which I hope to god there are. The alternative is very bloody, and while my teenaged self thought he was ready to die in a ditch for his ideals my thirtysomething self would like to have the joy of building a just society rather than the satisfaction of dying for the hope of one.

That’s what a district court judge will do when they know their work is going to be heavily scrutinized on appeal. They’re mainly writing to persuade appellate judges because nobody likes getting reversed and overruled.

This judge could deputize people to do it. They don’t have to rely on the criminals to enforce laws against themselves. Anyone can enforce the law if they are enabled to do so. Before professional slave catchers (police) came around that’s how enforcement was done.
To date no judge has done this, even in cases where they know people are likely being flown to their deaths in Central America.
