Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Sunday that he was in favor of the Senate voting to reopen the federal government but that he would not negotiate with Senate Democrats on their plan to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies while the government was still shuttered.

“I’m willing to vote to open the government up tomorrow,” Graham told NBC News’ “Meet the Press.” “To my Democratic friends: I am not going to vote to extend these subsidies.”

Point a of interest here is that even the majority of Republican voters agree with the democrats on restoring the medical subsidies, and blame republican congresscritters for the shutdown

Point b of interest is that I dont think even republican voters are stupid enough to believe that the GOP would negotiate about medical subsidies if the democrats caved and reopened the government. This whole line of “lets reopen first and talk later” is perhaps the most blatantly obvious bullshit anyone has ever heard of

I think the subsidies should have just been the first thing. they should add a thing to the demands each week the shutdown is in place.

Even the centrist Democrats realize the rug-pull the Confederates are known for.

Extend the subsidies now. Not later.
