Don’t fall for the hasbara that Israel spreads.

Hamas is only one of many resistance groups in Gaza. And the ideologies range massively from far left to far right. It’s how they’re able to sustain a prolonged resistance against Israel’s constant aggression.

Focusing on Hamas’s leadership - they have been mostly centrist and advocate for equal rights of all, with outliers that are more right wing and Israel repeatedly kills off the moderates in the party for a reason. Israel wants the hardwingers to be more prominent. Israel even wanted to bring back Ahmedenijad as president of Iran and that guy is the poster child of “death to the infidels”.

You’re also equating Palestinians with Hamas too, don’t do that.

They’re more left wing than you

This isn’t inherently true. Nationalism in the context of liberation from colonialism and imperialism is an inherently progressive project, as it creates national autonomy. Nationalism in Israel’s case protects its status as a settler-colony and is inherently genocidal and reactionary.

Further, major resistance groups in Palestine like the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine are Marxist-Leninist, which is inherently left-wing. Hamas is not the only group in the resistance, just the primary.

The US has supported fascist death squads all over the world for decades, including the fascist death squad trampling on them now. It doesn’t fucking matter. Orban’s replacement is right wing. So fucking what if they’re right wing. Give them their fucking land back first and equal rights to self determination, and then we’ll talk about problematic things with their governance.
