I’m not a conservative, so this is easy for me.
I don’t want people with excessive baggage in my party. Goodbye and give me someone with a cleaner resume.
More or less what I expected, his implosion is good for the health of the party, even though the surrounding circumstances are awful and never should’ve happened. By releasing the plurality of democratic votes to a smaller spread it becomes less likely that Democrats cock up and lock themselves out of the general election.
Haven’t heard much from Steyer lately since I think 2020 run? For a billionaire I remember liking him at least over Biden. I honestly haven’t paid much attention to the gubernatorial race there.
Steyer’s been a significant climate advocate for a long time, but has not held elected office.
Katie Porter has been too, but has been rather mean to her staff (though not a sexual abuser)
Lots of choices, and really important that Democrats figure out how to at least somewhat consolidate so that we don’t end up with an R vs R general election.
Define “mean to her staff”. I’m not being cantankerous, I just haven’t kept up with her much. I remember thinking she was up and coming a while back.
