I can’t help but feel so sorry for all the Americans. No one deserves this. He’s gambling with so many lives of innocent people.
Before Trump I didn’t know democracy would be so delicate.
I am from Germany and I love a lot about history.
I meant modern democracy in a much more globalised world where Information on the internet is free. I once assumed no one controls media so much, apart from North Korea, to be able to propagate another reality.
My mistake was not taking into account how big tech and ai follow political agenda, making people question reality, coupled with targeted marketing, changing history and education and superhuman persuasion.
By the way, when Germany goes to shit as well, (again) because of AfD, having known will not help anymore.
it’s heartbreaking to be helpless and afraid, even here in Europe. Must be terrible for you. I wish for you to stay strong and get through this somehow
I disagree; plenty of people do deserve this. People who voted for him obviously, but also people who defended the system that produced him and/or the evil shit his predecessors did. I wish all genocide supporters in particular a happy visit to an ICE detention center/concentration camp.
Idk man. Seems bitter. Most people did not want this. Many were misinformed or had bad education. No reason to doom a nation with this amount of suffering and reducing their life expectancy.
There are so many good people in the US.
Yes, because it affects them. There were people who were fine accepting everything that led up to this because they thought they would come out scot-free. This isn’t what they wanted, but it is a consequence of what they wanted that they were warned about repeatedly.

Willful ignorance is not an excuse.

You can find anything in a nation of 340 million people. What I said still applies to the vast majority. I’ve seen how even center-leftist Americans talked about even the most lukewarm anti-imperialism (thinking of Uncommitted here); a majority of even the people who claim to care are never going to do anything about it.

Greetings from Germany. We have known for a long time.

The annoying thing is those of us that know what is going on feel like we’re screaming into the void.

I guess everything is news if you don’t learn your history.
I think it’s more just completely forgetting values, ethics, etc.
Many (most?) of those have been adopted over years of doing something badly - arguably “history” which could’ve been learned from.
Assuming without knowing and knowing better at the same time. Fun at parties I guess.
