I don’t know this reporter, I don’t know the whole situation, but if it was a private event and they told you to leave…okay? Press badge isn’t an “I go anywhere and do what I want” badge.

Elaine Godfrey, a staff writer covering national politics for the outlet, was wearing her press badge identifying who she was and had “attempted to join a closed-door press scrum with the congresswoman that was open to the other reporters at the rally,”

Other reporters being there is where the issue lies.

A closed door press scrum. Those usually have a list, if she wasn’t on the list then she doesn’t get in. That’s…how all of this works? I don’t understand what the outrage is about, this is pretty standard shit

Why normalize it? She’s from The Atlantic. Its not like she’s a Breitbart reporter? This should be no different than the White House booting BBC reporters out of the press pool for their press conferences.

have you been to a closed door event? you’re not on the list and you try to get in, you have to go. a press badge is not a “i go where i want” badge
