It’s unconscionable, and those seven should be primaried, as well as party leadership who decided not to do a whip vote, but blaming the entire Democratic Party, including the Senate which hasn’t voted yet and is vowing to block it, is quite ignorant, to be honest.
What are you hoping to accomplish by responding to Senate Democrats saying they won’t allow the funding, by saying “You already allowed the funding”?
Wait for the Senate to vote, see if they keep their word. Don’t preemptively blame them for the thing they’re saying they’re going to try to stop.

I’m not happy about the response seen so far, and I think any Dem who votes with Republicans should be primaried. I think the Democratic Party leadership should be replaced. But painting the entire Democratic Party with a broad-brush and saying they’re all to blame/controlled opposition/fascist-lite is as I said both counter-factual and counter-productive.
There are plenty of Democrats voting against Republicans and doing all they can to oppose them, and lumping them in with republicans and DINOs is not going to help the situation.
Just because they currently have a minority and the way the system is designed makes it extremely difficult for them to oppose the majority party doesn’t mean they’re all complicit. If you want to see them make a difference, try voting in more Dems so that they get a sabotage-proof majority.

Well, assuming the midterms happen and are actually free of interference, neither of which is necessarily a given.
I think we have far better chances than they want you to believe. We aren’t a single, small nation with one vote. We are 50 separate countries basically. “State” doesn’t mean subservient to a greater power, it means State. States have a lot of power and independence if they choose, and the administration would have to not just rig one election, they would have to rig 50, and that’s a HUGE task with massive chances of being caught.
But they will likely seed the public discourse with the suspicion that they will cheat, this will discourage some amount of people from voting at all. This might be all they have.
It’s not impossible for them to cheat, they very well might, they have a LOT of money to do so, but the question they need to ask is if they feel confident enough with the consequences and stability post-cheat when it inevitably comes out and nothing in the country changes and people get more and more angry.
They don’t have to rig 50. They just need a middleman.
Also, there’s points where all those votes converge so if they want to disrupt it, they don’t disrupt the voting. They disrupt it at the end.
So last election, they pulled all of the volunteers that weren’t republican out of my area. What we’re supposed to do is audit. So basically a republican a democrat and an independent would bring those votes at the end of the day to the county elections office. They stopped us from doing that this last election. They only allowed Republicans to do it. We could not audit them.
I’m an independent. They would not allow me to audit the fucking election as we have done every single year since I’ve been allowed to vote.
I have been consistently the youngest person to ever be volunteering and I’m not young. It was so bad the last election we couldn’t find a good bit of people that weren’t republican that were willing to put their time in for this.
So when I tell you, the people have failed themselves, this is why. They are lazy they took advantage of democracy. They don’t fucking do shit. So yes I’m going to fucking tell you. It’s easy to steal it from all 50 states when no one‘s fucking volunteering to audit And they cheated us out of the opportunity to do it when we are actually there.
Yeah this was exactly my point. There’s so many ways to disrupt elections in the US. In addition to what you mentioned, there’s also eg. tampering with voting machines (older hack but I doubt the current situation has vastly improved), or tampering with voter rolls.
This is not to say that the midterms will definitely not be free, but that y’all need to be extremely vigilant

The moment the current regime ends, ICE needs to be disbanded, and people has to be held accountable.
There needs to be a completely new organization for dealing with immigration, this one has been and continues to be rolling in shit so deep you can’t get the stink out.
ICE and DHS both need to be disbanded, they’re useless organizations whose function can be met equally or better by other groups. DHS has always been a sad joke of an agency, let the FBI/CIA, federal marshals or state troops handle that stuff. Likewise ICE has no need to exist, anything they do can just as easily be handled by some other law enforcement agency.
Worst case scenario they create a new agency with no law enforcement powers to handle immigration paperwork. Make them a pure bureaucracy that only exists to file reports and help people go through the immigration process. If someone over stays their visa then the immigration bureau can refer that person to traditional LEOs at the state or federal level. There’s no reason at all why they need a dedicated law enforcement agency purely for immigrants.
It’s good to remember that DHS was invented as a response to 9/11 during all the rush to “Keep us Safe from Terrorists” when we lost a lot of freedom and privacy. We were doing just fine without them before.
Unless we somehow miraculously manage to throw every single one of them into prison. Disbanding ICE and making a new organization just means these fuckers are going to be recycled and rebranded. Nothing will change.

Most people do the same. While it is technically correct that congressman applies to both houses, it’s generally understood that if you’re referring to a member of the senate they’re referred to as a senator rather than as a congressman and that therefore if you say “congressman” you’re implicitly not referring to a member of the senate but a member of the house of representatives.

I’ve said that for the last 10 years. We need to kind of poll test to prove that the voter actually knows what they’re voting for, but historically they’ve only been used to further suppress votes against minorities, because who’s going to make the test? Those in power currently, which means they’ll craft it in such a way to disenfranchise as many of the other team as possible.
At this point though, I truly believe the benefit outweighs the risk, and we just need to be careful to make this test. You shouldn’t have as much power as me in how our country runs if you don’t even know your ass from your elbow.
