The Trump administration is looking to transfer former election clerk Tina Peters, who was found guilty of tampering with voting machines after the 2020 election, from state prison to federal custody, Colorado state officials and one of her lawyers told The Associated Press on Friday.

Funny story: they can’t do that. Good luck getting before a judge in Colorado who knows exactly who this piece of shit is and arguing they have any legal precedent for this. They would have to admit she committed a crime, and even then it doesn’t erase her state conviction and record.

    Can’t pardon that shit away.

Pedonald is threatening Colorado with unspecified “harsh measures”; it might be that someone in Colorado caves to this asshat even if I’m sure most of Colorado’s citizens want her to serve all of her term under Colorado’s watch.

Im not 100% on this but I believe federal convictions trump state ones so if she were to be tried and convicted federally he can do it. And I would be sorta fine with this. If he were to pardon her she would simply have to go back to state which she would have to do at some point to finish her sentence unless she died in custody.

She wasn’t convicted of a Federal Crime. That’s the issue. The federal system has no precedent for taking her into custody.

The federal govt doesn’t run elections.

Not even what’s happening. They’re trying to silently pardon her because she’s a Trump fanatic. They can’t pardon her, so are trying to abuse the system to get her out of custody.

I don’t believe this is true. State and federal charges are completely separate and a person can be found guilty for both.

If they wanted to charge her federally, they could maybe get her moved, but she’d have to be charged with a federal crime.
