When I was a teen/young adult I was a furnace. I would get hot extremely easily so I ended up wearing shorts during winter.

    I miss those days…

      Does it go away eventually?

It’d be easier to bundle on more clothes when cold. Getting more naked when hot has a limit to it.

Shorts i get. But why does a human wear a jacket in summer that is not trying to hide something or trying to sweat out water weight?

Because im cold. Literally hat is it. When everyone else is complaining about the heat, to me is the most perfect day. When I go into work they have the AC at like 19C and I’ll literally get sick, and at home my wife keeps it at 24C which still is cold for me . so I wear a jacket all day. Even for the 10 min car ride from work to home

      Edit “preface” to “perfect”

I’m the exact opposite. Anything above 20°C and I’m in shorts and tank top sweating bullets. I work in a very hot kitchen and it’s brutal for me, I’m always finding any excuse to run into the walk-in freezers and coolers

Same here! Anything under 26° is too cold and I’ll wear a sweater. I sleep under a winter blanket in summer and under two winter blankets in winter. Plus I have heating pads scattered around basically all the places in my home where I hang out. My doctor has checked my thyroid and everything seems fine, I guess I just really like feeling warm.
Oh, I also fell asleep in a 70° Sauna last week because it was very comfy.

I hated how the office I used to work in kept the cold air blasting. I had to wear layers in August. And because of how bad the building’s HVAC was, it was still warm on the other side of the office.

I bring this up whenever people suggest working in the office is more productive. Being physically uncomfortable is not good for focus, Jeff.

      Fashion. It’s stupid.

Or they’re like my wife who is freezing to death if it’s colder than 80F.

More like an Autumn/Spring thing than a Summer one, but…

If you live in a place where temperature varies a lot across the day, you’ll want to wear a jacket at some hours, but not others. Then you need to choose between three options:

      1. Wear the jacket through the day. You’ll feel hot at ~noon.
      2. Don’t bother with the jacket. You’ll feel cold at ~early morning and ~early night.
      3. Take off the jacket at ~noon. Now you’re carrying (and potentially forgetting) yet another item.

All three suck. But people disagree which one sucks the least, and for some it’s #1. So you get people wearing jackets even when it’s too hot for that.
