The retired general told a community meeting in southern Israel earlier this week that more than 10% of Gaza’s 2.2 million population had been killed or injured – “more than 200,000 people”. That estimate is notable as it is close to the current figures provided by Gaza’s health ministry, which Israeli officials have frequently dismissed as Hamas propaganda, though the ministry figures have been deemed reliable by international humanitarian agencies.
Looks like the IDF have been lying about the extent of their genocide all along. What a surprise.
And then add the people that starved to death on top of those 200k and it gets even more grim.
This estimate is way out of date at this point. As of this April, it was probably around 600,000, most of them children. And then them completely shutting off food to the population came after that.
According to us state department estimates, over the last 10 years Hamas had an average membership count that peaked at about 45k soldiers.
Let that sink in if it hasn’t already
I don’t condone hamas leadership and terrorism but I totally understand people wanting to join hamas. When you are so powerless at the face of your livelihood being destroyed, your loved ones/children being torn into pieces by bombs or shot in the head while waiting in a food line, then you grasp at the nearest opportunity for revenge. Or perhaps it is not even revenge all the time but a very deep desire for next generations to not go through the same traumas that you did.
It’s as if someone has been telling a tale that there’s been some kind of 50-50 conflict over the past 80+ years…

These people had no reason at all to sign up for any sort of armed resistance movement. Its not like they have a right to self determination, or any rights at all, right? Are they even human? We need a zionist in here to answer these questions, but I think we all know what they will say.
they are probably only counting direct deaths. there were some people who calculated these based on excess deaths which resulted in figures like 600k I think.

Just world fallacy. There is a very real chance that they will all get away with this. Better odds than not, I’d say.
