I don’t condone hamas leadership and terrorism but I totally understand people wanting to join hamas. When you are so powerless at the face of your livelihood being destroyed, your loved ones/children being torn into pieces by bombs or shot in the head while waiting in a food line, then you grasp at the nearest opportunity for revenge. Or perhaps it is not even revenge all the time but a very deep desire for next generations to not go through the same traumas that you did.
