I will say that it’s styling is unique and distinctive, and looks like it belongs in a videogame, making it a polarizing “love it or hate it” aesthetic. While such a risky choice could potentially succeed, Musk going full MAGA and throwing Nazi salutes really turned a lot of people off of Tesla, and it’s distinctive flagship videogame “truck” became the instant icon of douchbaggery. Add in that Musk chronically over promises and under delivers (i.e., he lies about prospective features and benefits of his products), and every single problem with the vehicle is put under the microscope and (rightfully) held up as an example of why the truck is shit. Also note that, on brand for Musk, the relatively low price that it was promised at ($39,999) never materialized, and the actual price for the base vehicle was over $100K. So yeah, overpriced and shit compared to what was promised. The styling might have been able to find a fanbase, but not now, because it flags you as a Nazi supporter.
If it were an actually good vehicle the styling would have been ugly-cute. Jeeps aren’t particularly good looking but (until recently) their off-road skills made up for it.
But it’s bad at just about everything, made poorly, and looks like a dumpster.
I can tell you why.
Even before the owner of their company overtly showed he was a Nazi piece of shit, the Cybertruck was an overpriced and ugly piece of shit.
saw how ugly, what was it around 2017-18ish.

I was just going to say that it looks like something from a subpar N64 title that hasn’t been played by more than three dozen people since 2004.
The inspiration for the Cybertruck:
Nah, too detailed.
Real inspiration:
If I could have any coin-op video game at my house, the OG Star Wars would be it. Any game.

It was supposed to be $40k? How would anyone ever believe that?
I don’t know, but many did.
Yup. It’s just hilarious to me. I love it.
