Israel has tightened its siege of northern Gaza in the face of warnings from the UN and other aid agencies that hundreds of thousands of Palestinian lives at are risk, raising questions over whether the Netanyahu government’s ultimate war aims include territorial expansion.

The IDF says it is hunting Hamas militants but suspicions are growing that Israel is putting into practice a blueprint it had officially distanced itself from, known as the “generals’ plan”.

The plan, named after the retired senior officers promoting it, was intended to depopulate northern Gaza by giving the Palestinians trapped there an opportunity to evacuate and then treating those that stayed as combatants, laying total siege.

Siezing land is literally Israel’s raison d’etre and raison d’etat. “Concerns that the Jewish Lebensraum project is may be doing what it was created for.”

Israeli lebensraum, not Jewish. Conflating Judaism with Israel is anti-semitic.

Israel is a colonial project of creating Lebensraum for Jewish people. That’s not saying that Israel is equivalent to Judaism, rather that the explicit purpose of Israel is to create an ethnostate

If Kamala wins the biggest fear is liberals not demonstrating out of complacency. Similar to how the George Floyd movement died after Biden was elected. But subsequent years police violence has gotten worse.

Whomever wins this time, mass protests. Instantly. Everywhere.

For real change, we need to change local for cops. States hold police in check and unfortunately federal has little they can do.

Also Biden never had control of the house. He would need that for any federal change. I personally was effected by the police and wish my federal reps could do something. However, I live in a gerrymander hell hole called North Carolina.

But you are right, we need to stand united against the murdering of the palestinians.

protesting against zionist violence and land theft has all but been outlawed.

But if this was two months ago, I’d agree with that. Thats why I was hoping more people would sign onto the uncommitted movement when we had a chance to let biden/harris know that supporting genocide wasnt going to be permitted by the voters.

Yeah, that worked though. Biden stepped down and was replaced with Harris. That is extremely rare. His debate didnt help but different states voming back with 1-8% uncommited/other was also a driving force.

Right now we need to defeat the local threat before we can put presser on the over seas threat. I.e russia and isreal

Hey, look, it’s been exactly what we’ve been saying it is from the beginning. It’s a landgrab. The liberals will be flocking to claim that this is definitely not just like Putin’s landgrabs in eastern Ukraine, and that it is fundamentally different, either because Israel thinks that a thousand years old book promised them half of the Arabian peninsula, or some other nonsense about Hamas tunnels.

Not arguing with you, but I think Gaza is even worse.

What’s happening in Ukraine is terrible - but it’s a war between two countries, that each have an army.

What’s happening in Gaza is something else. It’s a country sending an army on a civilian population. Palestine has no army to defend itself.

And if, for the sake of argument, you accept Israel’s claim that it owns the Palestinian Territories, then it means Israel is turning its army against its own land and its own citizens.

And here you are wrong, Palestinians have no citizenship and nowhere to go. A lot of Ukrainians escaped the war, Palestinians simply can’t do that. They are stuck in a very small land rendered completely inhabitable by now, with no escape and no future.

The country that has armed settlers go take land all the time already in the West Bank? Nah. /s

I’m the kid who stood in line and watched everyone in the Pepsi Challenge pick the cup on the left. It was always on the left. It’s how (this one anyway) was set up. So 50 people ahead of me choose Left like good consumers and get their prize (I think you got a Pepsi if you picked right - again maybe just how this one got run) and jack shit or a button if you picked Coke. I pick Right. Because I’ve always done stupid shit like that thinking this was the one that’s different.

The idea of Israel not intending to gain territory to me is not a bet even the kid who failed the Pepsi Challenge would take.

Harris for sure will stop it after she got elected. she is just toeing the line, pinkypromise. The US Dems truly dont want to support this genocide. All they say and do to the opposite is just for the election. Biden when in the 80s he said if there was no Israel the US had to create one was just anticipating his election dropout in 2024. Really guys just vote Democrats and this will end the day after.
