No, its a full throat-ed support of genocide. Its Joe Biden doing this.

If you don’t want Trump for president in 2024, then call for Joe Biden to do better.

This isn’t about Trump voters what-so-ever.

This is about keeping the paper thin support that Biden has in place. He’s floundering, utterly right now.

He needs every scrap of help he can get to win this election, and his policies are costing him support in key demographics.

Biden’s only support has always been “I’m not Trump”. Nobody is changing their mind on if they’re voting for Biden because of little “scrap(s) of help”.

His policies aren’t costing him support anywhere, it’s a common whataboutism that Trump supporters spout to try and claim that Biden is slipping, trying to further erode poll numbers.

100,000 voters in Michigan just voted ‘No Confidence’, because of his policies around Gaza and Israel, or approximately 10% of the vote.

Biden can not afford to lose 10% of the votes he got in 2020. He will lose if he does, and especially not in swing states (like MI).

Hi! I voted for Biden last time. I am not this time because of this shit.

If you would like, feel free to read through my comment history to see exactly when that changed.

I may have come here during the Rexodus but I’m fairly decent commentor, in quantity, at least

When the alternative is that traitorous twat, that support is one hell of a trump card (sorry not sorry)

But it’s one he’s wasting by basically supporting a genocide.

I voted for him on his not-Trump platform last time and I won’t vote for him this time unless he stops this shit in Israel. Either he shapes up or steps down from the primaries… or we risk Trump again.

I think we’re just more lucid and aware of what our government has been doing since the ink on the Declaration of Independence was signed.

People don’t say this often, but the quality of the coverage of this horrifying ordeal is the best I’ve ever really seen. There’s plenty of shortcomings, but the wars in Vietnam and Iraq and even against Isis weren’t covered this closely or clearly.

I think Biden et al are operating as they always have, it’s just the level of public awareness of it all that makes this so shocking.

Not to mention, it’s entirely on Biden. He’s the one who tells the UN ambassador to veto or how to vote for whatever.

They could at the very least just abstain. Vetoing is so fucking absurd, we won’t even allow OTHER COUNTRIES to put pressure on them for obviously-acceptable behavior

      Why is it happening?

Like why are the US doing nothing/ burry their head in the sand?

Now please don’t bite my head off because I think at this point it’s actually a fair question. Are there a lot of people in the upper levels of government with connections to Israel or is there more to it?

It’s that, but also, look up AIPAC. Lobbying is a huge problem in the US, and it was made way worse a couple decades ago by the SC’s decision in the Citizens United case.

There’s still more to it than that, but politically speaking, that’s a big part of the dynamic in modern times.

The UN and NATO really need to do away with veto powers. Like holy shit does it make organizations useless with one bad faith actor.

The veto is why the Security Council, and the UN in general, works. Its ultimate goal is to stop global war. And by “global war” it means wars that pulls in all the superpowers at once against each other, not all war on the globe.

The veto has made it successful because it prevents the UN from acting against the interests of any of the superpowers that can sustain a war against the rest of the UN. And because of that, the superpowers keep diplomatic channels through the UN open at all times because none of them will ever be at war with the UN itself.

    Jesus Christ.

Biden just writing trump the check. Not that he will be any better. In fact, he’ll be much, much worse. But when you have the power right now, and everyone is looking, you’re only shooting yourself in the foot when you’re turning around saying people should vote for you because he other guy is so awful. You’re…supporting genocide. It’s hard to get much worse than that.

What’s happening to the Palestinian people is the true atrocity. That part obviously be ignored. It’s absolutely the most pressing issue. But in the context of US politics, this kind of shit could very well spell the end of democracy. It dies supporting genocide. And it’ll maybe even bring genocide home. hooray.
