    Isn’t that kind of a matter of opinion? The sequel trilogy is a continuation of the story, that’s why they have official numbers. The emperor returns as the main villain in Rise of Skywalker. By your reasoning we can say Star Wars is the story of destroying the death star and Empire Strikes Back is a whole new story with the same characters. You can make that case regarding any sequel. Officially, the sequel trilogy is part of the same story, it’s officially called the Skywalker Saga. Have you even watched the sequel trilogy? Cause it’s clearly a continuation of the same story. That’s generally what a sequel is.

      oh certainly. I mean we can call everything in the univers part of the story. splinter of the minds eye. grand admiral thrawn. I mean ip thrives on that. its kinda silly though to me to keep on calling something the same story and extend and extending and extending it.
