…Trump also suggested during the high-level meeting with Xi Jinping that the US, China and Russia should join forces to challenge the International Criminal Court, noting that their interests align.

the Chinese president made the comments during wide-ranging talks that touched on Ukraine and included Trump suggesting that the three leaders should co-operate against the International Criminal Court.

Wait… What? Who cares about gossip about Putin when this is sitting right there?

Trump just says dumb shit. Xi has no reason to fear the ICC, and America passed The Hague Invasion Act, which requires America to invade if an American serviceman is ever detained by them so Trump has nothing to fear outside America.

It’s more that “the law and order president” wants to conspire with autocrats Putin and Xi against the rule of international law. That’s your headline, not scuttlebut about whether Putin will regret a war he started.

Only because Trump is so ignorant as to not understand the ICC is largely a tool of the US; we aren’t bound by it, but we can use it to bind others or just generally justify further hostile actions.

Same with him talking about disbanding NATO. That one, I’m certain he knows how much cutting his fellow billionaires off from Raytheon’s biggest market would hurt them, and is only saying dumb shit to get Europeans to buy more US weapons.
