“What would be wrong if they said Biden won?” Grassley [R], the 92-year-old chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was heard loudly asking his aides in a Wednesday hearing.

[…]

Grassley’s remark caught on the mic undermines his public criticisms of Democrats for asking Trump’s nominees this question at all. He opened a hearing earlier this month by lambasting Democrats for having “relentlessly attacked” the president’s nominees with this question, and suggested their questions are “political theater” with no meaningful purpose behind them.

He’s also been giving cover to Trump’s nominees’ evasive answers by arguing it’s accurate when they say Biden was “certified” as president — which is true, except he knows this is how they’ve avoided answering the basic question of who won in 2020.

Is Chuck Grassley not aware that his party is trying to seize absolute power and overthrow the Republic? Or is he trying to save his legacy as if he did not know that is what he is doing?

I suspect the latter, that this is a cynical manipulation to pretend like he did not know he is betraying the United States of America, a traitor, and an oath breaker.

He is still living in the pre-Reagan era where people at least pretended to be civil.

Comrade, that man doesn’t know what decade it is, let alone the context of conversations occurring in front of him. The fact that he can still sit up for these committee meetings is itself a miracle.

He is an old hand and it has never been any secret what they have been doing. Don’t let these motherfuckers pretend like they didn’t know any better. They knew. There are only rare exceptions like perhaps Marjorie Taylor green that did not quite know.

Looking at him, I can’t help but feel he may not be in posession of all the facts.

Hey moron. The “meaningful purpose” is determining whether your allegiance lies with the American people or the authoritarian-in-chief. It’s not a hard question.

Apparently it’s one of the hardest questions asked, based on their inability to answer it correctly.

Why are geriatrics even still working, let alone exercising power over an entire nation? Fucking retire, Chuck. You are not relevant.

Here’s an idea… how about we have people who decide our Country’s policies and other important shit that have a better chance of actually waking up in the morning rather than these dusty ass coffin dodgers.

There’s a minimum age for political office, why the hell isn’t there a maximum age? It’s not ageism…

92 years old, obviously doesn’t have all his marbles, and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Major “weekend at Bernie’s” energy here.

His age is wild, but also he’s been a senator for 45 years. He became a Senator before MTV or the personal computer existed. He hasn’t lived in the real world longer than most Americans have been alive.
