Palantir CEO and Trump ally Alex Karp is no stranger to controversial (troll-ish even) comments. His latest one just dropped: Karp believes that the U.S. boat strikes in the Caribbean (which many experts believe to be war crimes) are a moneymaking opportunity for his company.

At the New York Times’ DealBook Summit on Wednesday, Karp was asked about the worries over the unconstitutionality of the boat strikes.

“Part of the reason why I like this questioning is the more constitutional you want to make it, the more precise you want to make it, the more you’re going to need my product."

This is bond-level villainy.

Yeah, timing. America has two important Constitutional checkpoints to get past before we are more or less in the clear - the 2026 Midterms, and the 2028 Presidential Election.

We have to keep a lid on untill we get through the Midterms, which promises to be a bloodbath, even if they get the gerrymander they want. They think they can win by manipulating the number of competitive seats, but they have no clue of how angry people are. There are many, many seats in competition who don’t know it, and a lot of well-established MAGAs, who convinced themselves they were safe, are going to be crying on the day after.

Then we have to get through 2 lame duck years, which is going to get crazy, as he tries increasingly outlandish stuff to try to stay in power so he doesn’t go to prison for the rest of his life, or worse. We will try to keep the lid on for that period, but it may get tough, and maybe even impossible, if they decide to go full on brutal dictatorship in order to hold onto power. Then Luigis will be everywhere. Take away people’s hope, take away their reasons for existence, and they might as well go out with a bang.

And if they steal the 2028 election, it’s on.

But if we can get through the 2028 election without a Civil War, and we get a new president who is courageous enough to deal with MAGA decisively, and purge them from our government and society, then we can maybe have a decent country for the rest of this century.

But we have to get through the 2026 and 2028 elections first. They are literally the most consequential elections since the Civil War, and maybe in our nation’s history.

Don’t live anywhere near and I’m a minority with a pretty notable anti-lex luthor presence online so I’d be tracked readily I imagine. But, doesn’t stop me from considering.
