That’s just not true. You can call your representatives and ask them to, you know, represent you. You can organize or participate in protests, boycotts, and mutual aid programs. You can have tough conversations with the conservatives in your life that are also having a bad time now. Hell, if you truly feel this powerless in your own country, you can stash cash, get your documents together, and flee if you really want.

Democracy is falling apart because a third of the country figures their political actions don’t matter, so they don’t try.
