    Then maybe, just maybe, we should start canceling short distance flights?

    Would also be a little bit less CO2 pumped out for a while.

      I don’t know what’s “short distance” for you, but a flight from Zagreb to Amsterdam takes about 2 hours.

      Using public transportation on the same route is 20+ hours at best and you need to switch between bus and train four times. Driving is 10+ hours.

      Maybe, just maybe, we should stop immediately providing kerosine to private jets first? And droping subsidies for jet fuel and financing public transport instead?

        Weekly or bi-weekly A380 flights to the main hubs + speed trains to the smaller cities. Of course, this is impossible nowadays because the A380 is no longer in sale. With it died my hopes of seeing more people transported in fewer flights

        I’m sure with todays technology we could find out which connections have an alternative by train in an acceptable time (maybe +100%?).

      that’s the silver lining about every oil crisis. we may see a good focus on efficiency of oil use and it’s replacement where possible.
