Not to say it’s impossible, but you’d need a committed progressive president, a popular mandate and a cooperstive legislature, three things the Democratic psrty has been doing its damnedest to avoid over the past two decades.
It’s always felt punitive for the egg left on the US’ face following the collapse of Batista’s rule and subsequent loss of US business interests. The fact that Cuba hasn’t been a legitimate military threat to the United States for well over 50 years only reinforces that.
What has ever been the point of the US’s Cuba sanctions? At least since the end of the Cold War, it has been completely and utterly pointless.
