The president issued a threat to deploy ICE agents in an apparent attempt to force Democrats to approve a new budget for the Department of Homeland Security.

People in airports may cut across all economic sectors, but it it is still mostly people with money.

So go ahead and flood the airports with ICE, and piss off the rich people and the business people. Let them get the ICE Ape experience first hand.

Airlines already struggling and suddenly a bunch of their pilots get arrested by ICE, delaying flights and upsetting entire chains of flights? On top of the ongoing ATC staffing debacle?

    Go ahead, poke that bear.

Exposing ice agents to more Americans seems like a great opportunity to make them even more hated. Good luck with that.

We have a serious trip back in October. Who knows what awaits us by then.

I see this as only a win. The incompetence will make it backfire, meanwhile it takes ICE thugs off the streets.

We have friends in America. Was still considering whether or not to visit them there or somewhere else.

This confirms that visiting America is a bad idea.

This is NOT a time to visit America. There is a good chance you’ll be turned away at the border, if not outright detained. Maybe meet your friends in a third country.

    This could backfire magnificently.

Let the (typically upper-middle class) people in the airport witness and deal with ICE thuggery directly … just before the budgetary debate. Let them see small children arrested, families being torn apart, threats and violence against innocent and non-threatening people just based on how they look. Let them see fascist thugs marching around saying ‘papers, please’ to everyone who isn’t pasty white. And even if they’re sociopathic enough not to care about any of that, ICE will cause delays at the airport, and that will annoy air travelers. Let all those moderately wealthy people with time on their hands make a stink to their congresspeople about what they saw.

It’s going to expose a ton of people to ICE brutality who are normally insulated from this kind of shit. And that’s going to shape opinions at a crucial political time.

“We could do that, sure… Or, we could pretend to hold out just long enough to waste people’s time, give in to Trump like we always do, and then bitch and complain all over the entire Internet and wonder why more and more people hate us.”

God I can not wait for the conflict between the Tate-worshiping “alpha” and the 63 year old Karen when she starts screaming at him because she can’t take her big bottle of shampoo through security.

Double-digit percentage of them will love it, cheer them on, and yell for ICE to get a minority because the line will become shorter.

Soooo, fewer ICE thugs on the street?

Since I got nowhere to go, I’ll be laughing if they make the delays even worse because they’re, you know, smooth brained incels who are so incompetent at everything that they feel the need to target children and the sick … not to mention how they keep shooting themselves.

I am absolutely not defending the goons who apply for such jobs, lured in by the promise of bossing people around (to put it mildly) and, well, money.

But their training has been shortened to completely irresponsible levels. They actually do not know de-escalation, the legalities of their actions or how to handle a fire-arm. There’s a whistleblower who at first didn’t want to lawyer for ICE anymore and was then transfered to a training facility. His reports are brutal.

They’re not supposed to know de-escalation.

They’re not supposed to know or care what’s legal.

Their training is not irresponsible. Working as intended.

        They’re just evil.

I would guess at least the current bunch hasn’t applied for de-escalation, even if they knew what it was. They are there to escalate and feel powerful.

Unfortunately, the majority of Trump’s most hardcore supporters rarely or never leave their state. It is the worst time to create further delays at airports. Hopefully the majority of those affected will blame Trump openly, widely and loudly.
