But for example: even though I depend on many of the goods going through the suez cannal, I root for it’s closure, for the destruction of fossil fuels. I have a portable solar panel, and I want to transition to 100% energy independence and my own grown food.
Look at the army for freedom of Russia that is fighting it’s own country. Quite a few defectors helping Ukraine.
You only make things worse by rejecting these people as scum, by not leaving any room for their humanity. You kill who you must to protect yourself, you try to get them to defect to your side, and you can’t do that by damning them right away.
These people were just like you, believing they would rise up against their tyrannical government, and lay down their lives for the greater good, but it is not so simple or easy.
