American allies are watching in disbelief as the Pentagon reroutes weapon shipments to aid the Iran war, angry and scared that arms the U.S. demanded they buy will never reach them.

European nations that have struggled to rebuild arsenals after sending weapons to Ukraine fear they won’t be able to ward off a Russian attack. Asian allies, startled by America’s rate of fire, question whether it could embolden China and North Korea. And even in the Middle East, countries aren’t clear if they will get air defenses from the U.S. for future priorities.

    Why do people, especially other nations, think the US can be trusted? Hasn’t every action they’ve taken in the past few years demonstrated without a doubt that they’re not trustworthy? At best they’re dangerously solipsistic. At worst, violently belligerent. The only thing I trust the USA to do is step on the necks of the poor to enrich the wealthy.

    There’s an ongoing discussion in Poland about financing for defense. The government want’s the get EU funds to buy weapons but EU requires to source them from member countries. President claims that US weapons are better and that Poland should not use those funds but come up with some other, unspecified way to finance military expansion.

    So if the President gets his way they may end up with no weapons at all…
