They were all conscripted and when in that kind of situation (drafted by monsters) you just do not say no. And while being there you may also do everything that is possible to make the shit little less shit.

Should all members of WW2 wermacht be dishonored? Is that it?

This post shows only one narrow angle an forgets what really was remarkable about these individuals.

And no. I’m no way pro nazi or anything even remotely like that.

Every single member of the nazi party should have been hanged. Every. Single. One. From Adolf Hitler to the shithead private that couldn’t clean a toilet properly.

Hang them. This goes for the new ones, too.

You absolutely do not need to come to the defense of the Nazis, especially clearly high ranking ones…

Adolf Heusinger was not conscripted; he joined the German Army as a volunteer in 1915 and later became a professional soldier, serving in various capacities during both World Wars. He held significant positions in the Nazi military(Operations Chief within the general staff of the High Command of the German Army from 1938 to 1944 and acting Chief of the General Staff for two weeks in 1944) before transitioning to roles in post-war Germany and NATO.

Why are you running ridiculous (untrue) defence for Nazis?

at least werner von braun was a high ranking nazi. I am not sure about the others

And while being there you may also do everything that is possible to make the shit little less shit.

yes, you could argue, that slaves under werner von braun had better survival chances than else where. (I am not sure if that is true though)

Werner bon Braun was high ranking due to his work on rocket engineering, nothing more. He joined the party due to pressure and wanting to keep doing his life’s work.

        Just read about him.

It’s very common within certain regimes to rank individuals higher due to aspect off the ranking bracket.

Like in the Soviet Union high ranks were all political, not skill based. That’s why Chernobyl disaster.

Von Braun’s military rank had nothing to do with military and he ded not attend in atrocities against humanity. He was in a lab doing rocket science.

…doing rocket science for the nazis.

          He wrote of Hitler:

Yet, he also wrote that “to us, Hitler was still only a pompous fool with a Charlie Chaplin moustache”[31] and that he perceived him as “another Napoleon” who was “wholly without scruples, a godless man who thought himself the only god”.[32]

          And

Later, von Braun said: “I have very deep and sincere regret for the victims of the V-2 rockets, but there were victims on both sides…A war is a war, and when my country is at war, my duty is to help win that war.”[1]: 351

Further, he knew how to flee when his life was under threat:

Nearing the end of the war, Hitler instructed SS troops to gas all technical men concerned with rocket development.[70] Upon hearing this, von Braun commandeered a train and fled with other “technical men” to a location in the mountains of South Germany. After some time, von Braun and many of the others who made it to the mountains left their location to flee to advancing American lines in Austria.[33]

Von Braun and several members of the engineering team, including Dornberger, made it to Austria.[74] On 2 May 1945, upon finding an American private from the U.S. 44th Infantry Division, von Braun’s brother and fellow rocket engineer, Magnus, approached the soldier on a bicycle, calling out in broken English: “My name is Magnus von Braun. My brother invented the V-2. We want to surrender.”[17][75]

Yeah fuck this guy and fuck everyone working on weapons to this day.

I’m an engineer. I solve problems. But I don’t solve problems that involve killing people and ignoring my fucked up government.
