And nobody would ask why the Bible forbids eating pig meat; since pigs wouldn’t be food animals, asking why it’s wrong to eat them would be like asking why theft is wrong.

I could have gotten sources from the last year or two but I was just trying to show that your assertion about the 1300s is absolutely ridiculous. I used to be very close with a Vietnamese man who talked me through a fair bit of his experience with dog meat prior to coming to the USA (among a ton of other shit). He was a mentor to me while I was finishing my degree. I’m not operating soley on google searches. It just objectively is a thing in a some places.
