In short: The National Socialist Network says it will disband in response to proposed new hate speech laws by the federal government.
A statement from the group says the decision was made to prevent members from being arrested and charged.
The group says it will close down by January 18.

So… making laws against Nazis DOES work?
Those fuckers won’t suddenly stop being Nazis. But the laws do make it harder for them to organise and corrode society.
They are making laws against us all, not just Nazis. Maybe it appears good now but restricting speech is not generally good and will be used against everyone in the future.
They help. But they aren’t enough. Community organising is essential to complement them where the law can’t reach.
While respecting this communities doxxing rules can anyone remember the name of that organisation that was documenting individuals showing up at fascist protests? They did good work without being a kiwifarms style pile on. Pretty much just names & events.
In Australia? The White Rose Society is the main public face of antifascist research, they had this page:

That’s the one
Definitely. Losing their formal organisations means they lose convenient (and legal) funding, because funding of group activities, when done informally, quickly and easily ends in trouble with the tax man. Losing the ability to legally spew their hatred filled bullshit out in public will not only lead to less recruitment of people who actually believe it, it will also foster a societal climate where opportunists will think twice before aligning themselves with the Nazis.
